About Celine
Celine Carlson is an author, student, and traveler from Austin, Texas. She visited all 50 U.S. state capitals with her family, then wrote the guide she wished she had along the way.
Each stop raised new questions. Why was this city chosen as the capital? Where did its name come from? What makes its capitol building stand out? Her book brings those answers together, along with three places to see in every capital.

Beyond the capitals
At 12, Celine has flown more than 800,000 miles. Her travels have taken her across six continents, and Paris is her favorite place to visit. When she’s home, she plays club volleyball and enjoys learning languages.
